The Granollers Cup reinforces its social commitment with a campaign against food waste

At the Granollers Cup 2025 we have once again shown that sport goes beyond competition. In this edition, we have collaborated with Pont Alimentari — an initiative promoted by Banc de Recursos — to carry out an awareness-raising and food recovery action with a double objective: reducing waste and helping those who need it most.

An active campaign throughout the tournament

Under the slogan "No + No -, eat just enoght!", awareness-raising actions have been carried out in the tournament dining areas and in the Village area of the Palau d'Esports de Granollers. With informative graphic materials, we wanted to raise awareness among all teams, volunteers and the audience about the importance of not throwing away food and consuming responsibly.

More than 140 kg of food used

Thanks to this initiative, during the days of the tournament, 140 kg of unserved cooked food were recovered, equivalent to 220 servings, which were delivered to the Fundació El Xiprer, a local entity that supports people and families in vulnerable situations.

This action has been possible thanks to the joint work between the tournament organization, Boris 45, Pont Alimentari and El Xiprer.

Another step towards a more sustainable Granollers Cup

With more than 7,000 athletes and hundreds of meals served every day, we know that our impact goes beyond the sporting field. For this reason, we are proud to be part of initiatives that contribute to making the Granollers Cup a responsible, sustainable event that is committed to its environment.

 

We will continue working to incorporate actions that promote social and environmental values within the tournament.
