Welcome to the Granollers CUP, the largest International Youth Handball Tournament in southern Europe that will be held in Granollers (Barcelona).
We are very happy to present the 25th edition of the Granollers Cup. In its beginnings, in 1999, Granollers brought together 55 teams from 5 different countries. In that edition, it was played only in boys’ U12, U14, U16 and U18 categories. Instead of female categories, only were played U16 and U18. 24 editions later, we were able to achieve our record participation with a total of 468 teams, playing all categories both men's and women's teams.
The Granollers Cup has had the participation of teams from more than 53 nationalities: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Morocco, Mexico, Moldova, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden Taiwan, Tunisia, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
In addition, many of the great handball players who are currently playing in the best teams and competitions of our sport have participated in this prestigious tournament.
With the same strength and enthusiasm as on the very first day, BM Granollers will celebrate the GRANOLLERS CUP, with the objective of promote sportsmanship, respect, fair play and enhancing the values of handball sport among young people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Club Balonmano Granollers
The Granollers Handball Club (BM Granollers), a pioneer and model in this sport in Spain, organizes this magnificent handball festival that brings together about 7,000 young athletes from all around the world in Granollers. The tournament takes place within the incomparable framework of the Palau d'Esports, the venue of the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. More than 1,400 matches will be played during the 4 days of the competition, involved in a unique and amazing atmosphere. Since 1944, BM Granollers has become a model, not only for his long and meritorious career but also for being a pioneer in many areas. The Club stands out for the promotion of handball among young athletes and for its firm commitment to promoting the sport’s values. Thanks to this work of so many years, the city of Granollers became handball main venue of the Barcelona'92 Olympic Games and the venue of the Men's World Handball Championship held in Spain in 2013. Both events had a huge importance for the history of the City and the Club. In 2021, the Women's Handball World Championship was held, organized by the International Handball Federation (IHF) and the Real Federación Española de Balonmano (RFEB).
